Welcome to Health Essence Clinical's "Matrix" Massage & Wellness.
I work with those who need deep soft tissue abdominal, pelvic, or chest release because massage alone does not address the deep underlying pain they feel their body needs.
I grew up suffering from minor complications of being a sickle cell carrier. I know what anemia means to your energy level. I experienced constant headaches in elementary school. I was rear-ended twice in my teens and suffered whiplash injuries for over 20 years with shoulder and neck pain.
Coming from a "shitty country," I lived the first 30 years of my life in parasite-invested regions of the world, and I am so blessed to live the next 30 years here in the USA. So, you know, I know a bit about physical pain and the challenges of not knowing what to do and hoping the pain goes away.
I experienced a lot of relief from massage, but that just wasn’t enough for what I was dealing with. Now, I bring you my life-long skills developed from years of training in massage, various bodywork, and functional nutrition. If massage alone is not working for you, let's talk.
Is it time to take a different approach to catching what others missed? If so, schedule a session or give us a call so that we can recommend the best session for your specific situation.
My Mission at HECM Wellness
My mission is to help your body get the relief it needs in the simplest way possible. I do this by using deep focal bodywork to rebalance internal tissue and advise you on how to rebalance your body to get you on your journey to your desired health goal sooner.
We can open a conversation that helps you understand your diagnosis and connect it to your health journey to your desired goal.
Your wellness journey is one of transformation, not the technique. But it is nice to know that each session is tailored to your needs at the time of your massage. We hide nothing from you if you want to go all in.
My holistic nutrition experience and training enable me to take a deeper look at structural imbalance in deep body tissue that translates into pelvic or butt pain, lower back pain, pain between shoulder blades, headache, migraines, tight muscles, multiple joint pain, muscle loss, rib pain, chronic fatigue, and tiredness.
Some of these could be real pain that we feel is not bad enough for a visit to the doctor. Yet, if nothing is done can lead to slow nagging and frustrating pain that massage alone cannot address. I draw from the modalities below and the time you allocated for your session:
-Visceral Manipulation is important to address deep tissue organ rebalancing. And if you are experiencing pain after...:
A surgery,
After having a baby or
experiencing constipation, diarrhea,
headache or
had any abdominal surgery
gall bladder removal or
heart or spine surgery.
Or you are experiencing pain or tightness inside your body, but you can't say where.
My passion as a massage therapist is to bring these different modalities to your session at the time you need them, paired with nutrition balancing—a cocktail your body would love. There are more out there, but these are the ones I geek on.
-Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy,
-Myoskeletal Alignment Therapy similar to sports massage
-Oncology Massage,
-Myofascial Release Therapy - John Barnes,
-Pre-Natal & Fertility Massage,
-Reflexology (2006)
-Scar Tissue Massage. And
-Functional Nutrition -
Why do I need to integrate massage, bodywork, and nutrition support:
Working with 100s of clients, I find that most of us experience body pain that massage alone cannot address. For example, looking at my last blood work, the problem is that just because I fit into the statistical range of "normal" doesn't mean that I feel well. Most of us fit into this category. As a result, the client can choose to further work with me, integrating tissue nutritional support.
A little bit about how I got here.
My skill as a healer began before my birth with the generation of female healers in my family. As a kid, I watched helplessly as my grandfather cried from the pain that resulted due to diabetic complications; later, my dad suffered from kidney insufficiency, and now my mom with arthritis. I couldn’t do much, if anything, for my grandpa and dad, but for my mom, yes. I chose to make a change to the quality of life she lives, and this was my drive to study “WHolistic nutrition.”
I received my degrees in Food Technology (1989) and Clinical Massage Therapy (2013). Since then, I have completed several pieces of training in Advanced Bodywork Therapies, Holistic and Functional Nutrition, and Cell Appraisal from various institutions to make up for that “holistic nutrition” training and skill-building.
I attended the Northern Virginia Community College Clinical Massage Program and became licensed with the Virginia State Board of Nurses in 2013. I have spent over 18 years honing my integrative Health and wellness skills to bring relief to the body naturally. You could say, looking for the "magic treatment bullet". Is there such a thing?
Personally, my genetic makeup works against me, so rigorous exercise is out for me, but it doesn’t have to be for you. I have learned ways to balance and care for my body, and I can teach you to do the same.
When massage is combined with targeted nutrition for your self-care, improving your health becomes easy to manage. My goal is to help you relax, improve circulation and nutrient absorption, and increase cell and tissue function so you can reduce or manage your pain and continue doing the things you love.
